Happy Easter

What a beautiful day!

Today was a quiet day for us, church in the morning (the service was awesome) breakfast at our favorite local restaurant. We laid around while Sophie napped then took some pictures, laid around some more playing with Sophie and Skyping with family.

It kinda didn't feel like Easter.

Sophie's too young to understand how wonderful Easter is, how awesome Jesus' Resurrection and salvation is. I can barely get her to listen to a story with more then a few words, so talking to her about Jesus requires patience and a little more diligence then I have so far had.

I really look forward to hearing my daughter sing "Jesus Loves Me" and quote John 3:16 to me. But the reality is she will never do these things if I'm not faithful to talk to her about Jesus, if I don't pray with her (not just praying for her which I do constantly), or set the example of someone who lives life, not perfectly, but with integrity. I need my actions to match my words, even when (especially when) nobody is looking, cause the truth is Sophie is always watching.

I am very thankful for what Jesus has done in my life. I like the person I am with Him so much better then the person I was without Him and I want Sophie to know Him too.

So this Easter I am so thankful the God loved me so much that He died rather than live without me, and I am focusing anew on sharing His love with Sophie. She might not be old enough to understand the resurrection but she's watching me all the time, so I need to show her a lot more Jesus.
